This card was a slow process with a few silly mistakes towards the end but it turned out so cute!
First I die cut Spellbinders D-Lites Sketched Blooms 2 dies from Gina K Designs card stock. The stems used two green colors and each flower used three colors. I used the following card stock colors:
Stems and leaves: Grass Green, Jelly Bean Green
Pink flower: Passionate Pink, Bubblegum Pink, Dusty Rose
Orange flower: Coral Reef, Tangerine Twist, Sweet Mango
Yellow flower: Wild Dandelion, Lemon Drop, Sweet Corn
Blue flower:Tranquil Teal, Blue Lagoon, Turquoise Sea
Purple flower: Eggplant, Wild Lilac, Lovely Lavender
I placed all the pieces I needed onto a piece of Glad Press and Seal. The assembly of the flowers was done over several days so this was a lifesaver. I didn’t lose any die cut pieces!
I used Bristol Smooth card stock for the background. I stenciled the clouds with MFT Cloud Mix-ables stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.
I cut the grass twice from Gina K Designs Lucky Clover card stock using the Honey Bee Stamps Grass Border die. I adhered one grass die cut before the flowers so it sits behind the them.
I used Gina K Designs Connect Glue to adhere the flowers. I first placed everything on the card for placement then started left to right adhering just the stem and flower outline. Once they were all down, I began inlaying the pieces inside the petals and leaves. When the glue was dry I cut off the overhang at each end. I then adhered the other die cut grass in front of the flowers.
The panda was cut from 110lb Neenah Solar White card stock, Gina K Designs Black Onyx and Cherry Red Card Stock and glued together with Connect Glue. I added Copic R20 to the cheeks and Sakura white gel pen for highlights. I tucked the critter behind the first layer of grass.
The greeting is from Hero Arts Smile Stamp and Cut. I stamped onto Gina K Black Onyx Card stock using Versamark ink and Hero Arts White Detail embossing powder. I then cut four smile die cuts from Gina K Designs Cherry Red card stock. I adhered them together with the same connect glue and added Hero Arts Lacquer on the letters and panda’s nose. I managed to lose the dot for the I so I replaced it with a little heart!
I added Tonic Gloss White Nuvo Drops to the center of each flower, but oops! I forgot to adhere the centers down first! So as I’m lightly tapping to settle the drops the centers start popping out of flowers and flipping over. I quickly cleaned up the mess, adhered the centers and added nuvo drops again.
Tip: I rub nuvo drops and the lacquer glue between my hands for about 30 seconds before using them. They come out smoother when I do this.
