This card says Spring to me and it can’t get here soon enough for me!
I’ve used the following supplies to create this card:
Card Stock: Gina K Designs Lucky Clover and Applemint
Dies: Hero Arts Hot Air Balloon Infinity Dies, Hugs die and banner die from March 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit
Stamps: Hero Arts Flowers for Coloring Bold Prints background stamp, Floral Doily Bold Prints background stamp, “sending” stamp from March 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit
Embossing Powder: Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers: green shadow, light green, pink haze, light pink, pale violet, violet, pale yellow, light yellow, haze blue, light blue, pale orange, orange, blender
Nuvo Drops: mustard
Inks: Altenew Just Green ink, Versamark
The background piece is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2.” I stamped with the background stamp with the green ink. It faded more than I expected. While it’s still visible, I wish I had gone with a darker color.
I cut the balloon from the largest two dies and the basket from the largest die. I stamped the floral background stamp on a A2 size piece of Bristol Smooth card stock with Versamark and embossed it. Before coloring, I cut the image from the largest balloon die. I colored each flower with two zig markers and the background with one marker and the blender pen.
The frame was adhered to the floral piece, then I added foam tape and added it to the green card stock. Before adding the greeting I added the nuvo drops and let them dry. I cut the hugs die four times, glued it together and placed it on the balloon. I heat embossed the word “sending” onto vellum and cut it with the banner die. The banner is adhered under the “h” only.
I’ve enjoyed creating hot air balloon cards lately. I have created a Pinterest board for inspiration.
I hope this tutorial is helpful. I’d love to hear any questions or comments you may have!
