A Blog Named Hero April Challenge Clean and Simple One Layer Birthday Card

This months challenge at A Blog Named Hero is Clean And Simple and I’ve used two recent favorite stamps sets to create this card.

Supplies:

Hero Arts Mix and Match Compliments Stamp Set

Hero Arts Hot Air Blooms Stamp Set

Hero Arts Flower Petal Bold Ink Cubes

Hero Hues Floral Mix Layering Paper

Copic Markers: V09, BV01, R27, R06, YG17, E97, E99

Neenah 110lb card stock

I arranged all the stamps so they were clustered close together on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ piece of Neenah 110lb card stock. I first stamped the sentiment. I had just acquired the ink pack and I wanted to use all four colors. Being such a large sentiment left plenty of room to show off all four colors. I applied one ink color at a time rubbing the edge of each ink color with a cloth to help it blend to the next color.

I had planned ahead where I wanted the image so once I was done stamping the sentiment, I stamped the image snug up with the words. I really wanted to use the same colors for the image as in the sentiment but I didn’t have the markers I needed. I referred to Sandy Allnock’s Copic Hex Chart to find colors that might work together. I think it worked out nicely and it helps that it was a small area.

I cut the card stock down to 4 x 5 1/4″ and adhered it to an A2 size notecard made from the aubergine layering paper.

I hope I’ve inspired you to make a clean and simple card for this challenge. Remember to visit and like the A Blog Named Hero Facebook page!
