Supplies
Star Light Star Bright Bold Prints Background stamp
Knitting stamp and frame cuts sets
Color Layering Dragonfly stamp and die sets
Hero Hues reactive ink in Blue Hawaii, Splash, Blue Raspberry, Grape Slush
Hero Hues card stock in Nautical
Copic markers
I began by stamping the images and coloring them with Copic markers. After die cutting both images I snipped the head and tail from the dragonfly. I adhered the wings to the girl with foam tape. I then die cut the heart and yarn dies together and then just the heart die from nautical card stock. I adhered the girl to the heart with foam tape.
Next I placed the background stamp and Bristol smooth card stock in the Misti. I began by applying all the inks I planned to use on the background with the teal and purple in the middle and the dark blue around the edges. I repeated this until the background was well covered. Sometimes I skipped the teal and purple just adding the light blue. I also sometimes used a light spritzing of water on the inked stamp to even out the image.
I used a ruler to make two lines one white paper. Between those lines I wrote the quote I wanted to use. I did this several times until I got it correct. I then taped a piece of vellum over the white paper and traced the quote. I made a mistake at one point but I was able to remove the ink with a Copic Colorless Blender. I don’t know if this could damage the tip. The quote is from Elizabeth Zimmermann.
I die cut two cloud shapes and heat embossed the greeting on one of them. I adhered everything with foam tape for the heart and girl and liquid adhesive for the vellum. Lastly I added a Tonic shimmer pen to the heart and clouds.
