Stretch Your Stamps: Turn an Outline Stamp into a Silhouette

The A Blog Named Hero August Challenge is Stretch Your Stamps. The technique I’m sharing is one I used for the first time a few weeks ago on a different card I like the result a lot so I decided to share the technique here.

Supplies:t

Hero Arts August My Monthly Hero Kit

Hero Arts July My Monthly Hero Kit

Hero Hues Reactive Inks in Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, Fruit Punch, Sea Salt

Hero Hues Premium Cardstock in Pitch Black

I began by ink blending the background with the yellow, orange and red inks. I then die cut the mountain from black cardstock. I used white ink to create a sun setting behind the mountains. I also stamped the mountain detail layer in white ink.

Before adhering the mountain layer, I stamped the dragon stamp in the sky, masking off the fire. To make the dragon a silhouette I used a black marker to color it in. After that, I stamped the greeting.

To make the dragon eye I used gold Nuvo drops squeezed gently onto scrap adhesive backer dragging it slightly. I adhered the mountain with foam tape. Lastly, I used a shimmer pen on the sun and dragon.

I hope you enjoyed this post and will share your creations! Be sure to visit and like the A Blog Named Hero Facebook Page where you’ll find much more inspiration!
