The August Challenge has ended at A Blog Named Hero but I have one more idea to share. I had to have this collaboration stamp set from Hero Arts and Pinkfresh Studios but I knew I couldn’t do it justice by coloring it in. I decided to use the following four techniques to highlight this beautiful stamp.
Supplies:
Pinkfresh Studio You Make a Difference Collaboration Stamp Set
Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies
Hero Hues Cardstock in Arctic, Mustard, Papaya, Cherry, Mist, Canary
Hero Hues Reactive Ink in Blue Hawaii, Lemon Drop, Green Apple, Creamsicle, Fruit Punch, Grape Slush
Hero Arts Dye Inks in Pumpkin Pie, Just Rust, Navy, Cornflower
Hero Arts Embossing and Watermark ink
Hero Arts Embossing Powder in White Detail, Silver, Gold
Bristol Cardstock
For the first card I stamped and heat embossed with gold on the yellow cardstock. I then used dye inks to add interest and contrast to the edges. I first used a blender brush to add the lighter color almost all the way to the center. I then added the darker color to the edges only. I love the glow that dye ink on colored cardstock can create!
I created a second card the same way. I love how they both turned out but I think the gold one is my favorite!
For the next card I stamped the image using a rainbow of Reactive inks using a Misti. Next, I sprayed the stamp with water and stamped it again. This made the Reactive ink start to run on the cardstock. I sprayed a little bit more water directly onto the paper and used a towel to soak up any puddles of water. I dried the image with a heat tool. I then placed the panel back in the Misti and stamped with black ink. I made sure the image was in the exact same spot so the black would stamp directly over the previous stamping. I love when the color is more intense closest to the stamp lines and fades out. It’s totally random and quick! I added Nuvo Drops to the flower centers in the matching color for each section.
My third idea is tone on tone stamping. I stamped on yellow cardstock with a slightly darker ink color then added Nuvo Drops to the flower centers. Quick, clean and simple but so very pretty!
For my final card I stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto white cardstock. Using Reactive inks, I blended the background in rainbow order. I rubbed off any ink on top of the embossing with a towel.
Each card panel measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ and is mounted on an A2 card base. All Cards used the fourth smallest rectangle die for the vellum and all but the blue card used the second smallest rectangle die for the cardstock behind the vellum. All cards have the sentiment stamped and heat embossed on vellum. The vellum was adhered to the cardstock using small dots of glue behind the embossing. I placed foam tape behind the color cardstock and mounted it in the center of the panel.
A new challenge starts soon but there’s always lots of inspiration to be found at the A Blog Named Hero Facebook Page. Be sure to like the page while you are there!
