This card is for the current Nature challenge at A Blog Named Hero. I combined three different dies to create this nature snow globe scene.
I first die cut the solid snow globe back and then the open front from plain white cardstock. I also die cut the deer and the snowflakes from Bristol smooth cardstock. I wanted to see if I could use the Forest Sunset Fancy Die for the snow globe. I was able to but the circle at the top holding the clouds on is as thin as a piece of thread so I adhered it to another open front snowglobe die cut. I also cut the mountain die from a previous My Monthly Hero Kit.
Before assembling the snow globe, I added very minimal dye ink from the lightest colors I own to all the pieces using blender brushes. Next I added shimmer pen to the bottom of the mountain die cut. I then added liquid glue to the adhesive of the trees, mountains and clouds. I also added some to the deer’s antlers and all over the snowflakes. I sprinkled some prisma glitter over the glue.
Once the glue was dry, I added foam tape behind the mountain layer and adhered this to the solid back snow globe layer. I added a single layer of foam tape to the trees and a double layer to the clouds and added those over the mountains. I added the deer with liquid glue and a very small piece of foam tape behind the upper body. I cut the snowflakes apart in a few spots and placed them in open areas. I added an open snow globe layer cut from ivory shimmer paper from my stash to finish it off. The label was cut from white paper. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I adhered the label with liquid glue then added shimmer pen over it.
I stamped the background stamp with embossing ink onto a light blue cardstock cut to 4×5 1/4″ and added it to an A2 card base. I adhered the finished snow globe with liquid glue.
