Papercraft Business Challenge: A gift Ornament

I’ve created this snowflake ornament as my gift for the Papercraft Business Challenge for November. And for the first time I have included step by step photos.

Ink up the wooden ornament with a navy dye ink by rubbing ink pad directly on wood. I let it dry overnight before moving on to the next step.

I removed the pad from the Misti and placed the ornament against one edge. I used the magnet to help keep it in place. I arranged the snowflake stamps on the ornament. The picked them up with the Misti door. I used an anti static powder tool but if I did this again I would be extremely generous with the powder. I still had to wipe away a lot of embossing powder. I stamped the snowflakes a few times with embossing ink.

Then I added white embossing powder and melted it with a heat gun. I was very careful not to leave the heat gun on the wood for too long so I didn’t burn it.

I used an acrylic block to stamp snowflakes in a few blank spots. I added embossing powder and heat set those as well.

I used a silver metallic pen to color in the ornament top.

I added dots with a white gel pen to fill up the empty space and help to disguise any stray embossing powder I couldn’t get off. Lastly I changed out the red ribbon for a silver that looked more appropriate.
