One Layer Sparkle Card – A Blog Named Hero

The sparkle challenge at A Blog Named Hero has ended but I’ve got one more sparkly card for you! It’s full of silver glitter embossing powder but is quite easy to make.

I began with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 ” piece of navy cardstock. Using navy ink I used a stencil only around the edges of the panel. I added a little dark purple at the corners. Unfortunately more of it soaked into the card than I hoped but if you look closely you can see it a bit.

Once the stenciling was dry I stamped the images and greetings with embossing ink and heat embossed with silver glitter embossing powder. I liked how it looked but since the stenciling faded back too much the edges were to plain. I used a t-square ruler and an embossing pen to draw straight lines 1/4″ in from the edges. I heat embossed with the same embossing powder here.

To finish the card off I added silver stars from an older My Monthly Hero Kit. I added glitter glue to the ring around the planet and in little dots between the stars.

I hope you like this card and find the tutorial helpful. Be sure to like and follow the A Blog Named Hero Facebook Page. There will be a new challenge starting in just a few days and there’s always great inspiration to be found!

Thanks for visiting!
