Anniversary Card – A Blog Named Hero Anything Goes

The current challenge theme at A Blog Named Hero is Anything Goes so I couldn’t resist using the January My Monthly Hero Kit! A lot of people have been sharing their creations from this kit but it is always fun to see the different ways to use it. The kit did sell out very quickly (that’s why I’ve been a subscriber for two years!) but hopefully we will get to vote again this year to pick a kit to be released as a regular item.

I began by die cutting the envelope from kraft cardstock and multiples of the images from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I colored them in with copic markers. I taped off a section on my craft mat to the dimensions of the opening of the envelope. I then laid out the flowers and leaves the way I liked them. I laid a piece of cling wrap over the arrangement to keep it in place. I flipped the piece over and beginning from the back pieces, I took them one at a time and glued them into place in the envelope. I continued this until they were all placed.

I die cut the Bold Graphic Confetti Die from Neenah cardstock and adhered it to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ piece of pink shimmer cardstock from the kit. The pink was too overwhelming on its own but the background die made it more subtle. Next I adhered the envelope to the background. I used liquid glue on the envelope and foam adhesive on the flowers that were taller than the envelope. I added a flower and two leaves to the bottom outside of the envelope with foam adhesive. I also added the side facing butterfly to the flowers in the envelope with liquid glue on the body and tiny foam pieces on the wings near the body. I added the other butterfly in the top left in the same manner.

I stamped the greeting from Everyday Sayings using Watermark and Embossing Ink on Peony Cardstock and heat embossed it in White Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out with the banner die from the kit and adhered it with taperunner on top of the flower and foam adhesive on the rest of it. Finally, I added shimmer pen to the flowers and butterflies.

I hope you like the card and enjoyed the tutorial. If you have any comments or questions, please share them below. Please follow and like the A Blog Named Hero Facebook Page. You can enter your creation at A Blog Named Hero. Thanks for visiting!
