The February Papercraft Business Challenge is Love/Valentine’s Day and I’ve got this fun interactive card to share. I also have a step by step photo today. Remember to enter your creations in the challenge for the chance to win the stamp set shown at the bottom of this post.
Die cut all the pieces for the card. The sloped grass is from the Mushroom Border Lawn Cuts. The grass, butterfly and flowers are from the Mushroom House Lawn Cuts. The clouds are from the Center Picture Window Card Lawn Cuts. The tall grass, log and rocks are from the Scalloped Treat Box Beach House Add-On. The wavy die is from the Hillside Border Die.
Die cut the slider opening and the notch from the Let’s Toast Pull Tab Add On from a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock that will be used for the background. The dies are turned 90 degrees from how I ultimately created the card but the idea is the same. Decide where you need the puffin to end up when pulled up. Mark the cardstock near the neck area then place the opening die in a straight line vertically down from the mark. Place the notch die directly above the other.
Die cut the pull tab and sleeve from cardstock. I prefer Neenah 110lb because it’s very sturdy. There are a great deal of YouTube tutorials on how to assemble this.
Before putting the pull tab through the opening you’ll need to cut down the tabs to hide them behind the penguin. Slide the tabs through the hole and adhere the penguin. I use double sided tape.
Begin adding the scene elements to the card panel. Be sure not to block the puffin and pull tab movement. The grass will need to be added with foam tape along the sides and on the sloped area away from the pull tab portion.
Stamp the speech bubble from the Say What? Pets stamp set on white cardstock. Stamp the sentiment in red ink. Unfortunately I did not take a photo but center each word in the speech bubble. Place tape over the other words. Ink the word up, remove the tape and stamp the word. Before repeating this step for the next word make sure to clean the previous word very well.
Place the left facing puffin, the speech bubble and one cloud on foam adhesive. Everything else is adhered flat. I tried to place the rocks behind the grass but it kept getting stuck on the puffin.
Stamp the greeting from Celebration Scripty Sayings stamp set in an embossing ink. I did not want the extra swirls at each end so I taped them off when inking the word up.
Heat emboss with white embossing powder. I also added the heart from the puffin set.
Die cut the arrow from the pull tab set from the same blue cardstock as the background.
Adhere the arrow. Add Nuvo Glitter drops to the bottom of the clouds and speech bubble Add shimmer pen to the flowers, butterfly and hearts.
Add white gel pen to various spots on the card. Enjoy making the puffin pop up to give their love the gift!
This is the stamp set you could win by entering your card in the Papercraft Business Challenge with a project following the theme. Despite all of the various Lawn Fawn products in my collection, I actually don’t own this adorable stamp!
I hope you like my card and found this photo tutorial useful. Id love to hear your comments or questions. Thanks for visiting!
