Recently, Lotsa Style sent me the Mini Wastebasket Trash Can Bold Edition pictured above. I knew I’d love it because I purchased a different style for myself last month. This wastebasket has helped get my craft mess under control. Well, the trash part of it anyway. Read through to the end for a discount code so you can get your own!
The picture above is what I was using for my trash before on my crafting counter. I have a step on trash can under my counter but when I’m sitting I can’t open the lid (which provides lots of laughs for my tall family)! So, this little cup from Ikea is what I used and it fills up quick. I took that same trash from that cup and put it in the Mini Wastebasket Trash Can Bold Edition from Lotsa Style. Seriously! That is the same amount of trash! I put a small trash bag that came with it inside. I usually will just dump the trash and leave the bag until the bag gets messy or ripped or something like that. It’s two pieces so you take the top layer off to dump the garbage. It hides the bag overhang nicely, too. The best part, though, was decorating my new waste basket.
The first thing I did after getting the wastebasket was grab some dies I had out from the January My Monthly Hero Kit and self adhesive vinyl sheets from Arteza I bought months ago and had never used. I like my decorations minimal so I cut each flower and one of the butterflies. I had also never used this You’re Doing Awesome die from Simon Says Stamp so I pulled that out and die cut it as well.
I first centered the saying as best I could. The thin letters are very fiddly when they have adhesive on the back so be careful. Next, I added the flowers starting from the middle and working my way out. Lastly, I added the butterfly where it looked best.
The adhesive doesn’t appear to be permanent so I think I’ll be able to change out the die cuts without ruining them or leaving paper behind. I’ve got ideas in my head and will share here or on Instagram when I change things up!
