Dog Gone Good Birthday Card

The new challenge at A Blog Named Hero is birthday! I’ve created an adorable one layer scene card with two new Hero Arts stamp sets.

Place stamps from Birthday Paw-ty and the greeting from the Surprise Gift set on the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” piece of white cardstock. Mark where table top and legs will be and remove all stamps. Use a t-square and pencil to draw lines for table and legs. I added a table back line and two lines to create the front edge. Add wall trim in same way.

Place all stamps back on panel. Once placement is good remove the sentiments and confetti and stamp remaining images. Repeat the balloon twice.

Using a Copic safe black pen, use t-square to trace over table and trim lines. Be sure not to draw over stamped images. Erase all pencil marks.

Color all images. I used the following Copic markers:

Dog: E53, E55, E57, E59

Cake , Balloons and Dog’s Hat: BG000, BG11, BG15, RV17, RV14, RV11, YR04, Y15

Wall: E42, E44, E47

Trim: C1, C3

To create the tile floor, use W1 copic to draw lines starting from center, angle line towards each corner. Add horizontal lines. Add W5 to add a bit of shading to each square, fill in square with W3. Go over floor with W1 filling in any missed areas. It’s not perfect but it doesn’t need to be.

Once coloring is done stamp and heat emboss both sentiments with embossing ink and white detail embossing powder. Stamp confetti throughout card with Emerald Green Shadow Ink. Add glitter pen to open parts of confetti. Add highlights to images with a white gel pen.

I hope you like my card and found the tutorial helpful. I will be sharing a simpler version of this card on my Instagram page soon. Be sure to visit and follow the A Blog Named Hero Facebook Page for more inspiration. Remember to enter your own creations to the challenge. Thanks for visiting!
