Using old and new Hero Arts stamps is the current challenge at A Blog Named Hero. I have been a collector of Hero Arts stamps for about 20 years, even if I did only really start stamping with them three years ago. So, I went through my older, wooden stamps to see what I was inspired to use and pair them up with something new.

I decided to use the three solid flower stamps shown above. I stamped them randomly throughout the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” panel of white cardstock using Ombre Tidepool to Navy ink pad and Flower Petals Bold Ink Cue Set on their respective cards. I often placed my head parallel to the paper to make sure the stamps would not overlap.

When the ink was dry I used C1, C3, and C5 Copic Markers to add shadows to the left and bottom of the flowers. I start with C5, making the line narrow and up against the image. I then go over the C5 with C3 making this line a bit wider. I repeat this with C1 and then use the blender to smooth out the C1 edge.

I stamped the heart from the Surprise Gift stamp set and colored it in with Copic Markers that closely matched the flowers. I added shadows to those as well. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiments from the same set onto black cardstock and cut them out. I fussy cut the word “birthday” and added them to the panel with foam tape.

Using the same markers I used to color the hearts, I added small dots throughout the background. I also added a black marker. Lastly, I added lacquer pen from previous My Monthly Hero kits and Nuvo drops.

I hope you like the cards and found this tutorial helpful. Be sure to submit your own projects for a chance to win. You should also check out the A Blog Named Hero Facebook Page for more inspiration. Thanks for visiting!
