The A Blog Named Hero Old and New challenge has ended but I wanted to share a card using old and new dies today. A new challenge starts soon full of new inspiration.

I began by die cutting the Airplane Fancy Die from Lapis, Pebble and Nautical cardstock. I cut the nautical and pebble pieces off that I wanted to use and adhered them to the plane. I cut off the window part, die cut that part of the plane from vellum and glued it just under the nautical edge. I cut both clouds from the Cloudy Sky Scene Dies from a piece of white cardstock that measured 3 1/2” x 8 1/2” and added Soft Sky ink to the edges. I die cut the love die from the Love Stamp and Cut three times from white cardstock and once from Hero Hues Cherry cardstock and adhered them together with liquid glue.

To assemble the card I adhered the clouds with foam tape to an 8 1/2” x 7” piece of white cardstock scored at 3 1/2”. Next I added the plane on foam tape. I adhered the love die directly to the clouds but I die cut two partial words and adhered them behind the “v” and “e” in the word so it would adhere flat to the card. Next I stamped the “sending you” from the Love Stamp and Cut above the word die. I stamped the sentiment from the Heart Tree Stamp & Cut with black ink and red ink. I used masking to stamp it in both colors. I mounted that on foam tape. Using the Misti, I stamped hearts from both stamp sets throughout the card. To finish things off, I added white gel pen accents and shimmer pen to “love” and the gray parts of the plane.
I hope you like this card and found the tutorial helpful. Be sure to check out the A Blog Named Hero Facebook page for more inspiration. Thanks for visiting!
