Hello! The current challenge at A Blog Named Hero is “Cute” and I knew this stamp set would be perfect. I already had it on order and got right to work as soon as it arrived.

The coloring for this card was inspired by Amy Young and Bobbi Lemanski. Their bright colors and completely colored backgrounds are so beautiful.

I began with a panel of 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” white cardstock. I arranged the images from the Lounging Pups stamp set on the panel ink the Misti Stamping Tool.

Try to be aware of any empty spaces. Keep the stamps clustered together to avoid this, starting in one area and working your way across.

I stamped the images using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored the images with Copic markers. I wanted to achieve a strong highlight like the shine that you might see on an inflatable pool or float.

Once the images were all colored, I covered the entire background with a light blue marker. I then surrounded each image with a darker blue, blended it out a bit with a lighter blue and used the lightest blue to blend it into the background.

I stamped the sentiment with Embossing and Watermark Ink onto Nautical cardstock and heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it into a strip and added it to the card with foam tape.

Lastly, I added white gel pen. Adding some Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen might look nice but I am out.
