I had an idea in my head for the August Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders but was having trouble executing it.

So I went on Pinterest and found some of Laura Bassen’s cards that inspired me. I love her graphic style and use of color along with a lot of white.
I began by cutting one of each of the decorative dies from white cardstock. I used Gina K Designs cardstock in Passionate Pink, Sweet Mayo, Red Velvet. I used Sweet Corn that appears to be discontinued but I think Wild Dandelion would work fine. I then cut them to 1 1/2” x 1 3/4” pieces, adhering the white die cuts to them.
I held the rectangles together with three long strips of foam tape, making sure the edges were touching. I mounted this on a 3 1/2” x 4 1/2” piece of white cardstock. I added more foam tape and mounted it on an A2 top fold card base.
I tried to use the letters that came with this months kit but they weren’t working for this card. I found the “congrats” in the December 2019 Small Die of the Month.
I die cut the word four time from Black Onyx cardstock and adhered them together with liquid glue. After I adhered the word to the card, I added Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to all of the die cuts on the card.
Have you subscribed to a Spellbinders Club yet? Which kits do you get? Which are your favorite?
I also get the Large Die of the Month. The small and large kits can be combined in the Die Hard Club for a discount.
If you want to sign up now you will receive next month’s dies but many of the dies become regularly available in the future, like the December one I used.
I’d be grateful if you followed my blog. Thanks for visiting!
