A few weeks ago, I asked in my Instagram Stories if I should buy a Halloween stamp set from Colorado Craft Company during their free shipping. The overwhelming response was yes (and one “of course” from Daniel West of Del and Artie!). I listened and purchased the Big and Bold Haunted House.
The very day the rather large stamp arrives, my Misti Stamping Tool broke. I immediately ordered a new one because there was no way I could stamp this image without it. I went for the newest one and I am so glad I did!

Cut white cardstock to 6” x 8” and place in Misti. Arrange Haunted House stamp on cardstock to best fit it all. Stamp with Gina K Designs Amalgam Obsidian Ink.
Color the Haunted House using Copic Sketch Markers as if the corners were lightest and the middle of the house was darkest. I used BV markers combined with N markers for a glow on the house.
Work in sections to color the house. Color the area with BV0000, then N8, N6, N4, N2. Color over the N8-N4 with BV01. Color over N2 with BV31 and blend it out with BV0000.
For the moon, use the largest circle in the Hero Arts Nesting Circles Infinity Dies, trace the outer portion of the die with BG000. Color the moon with the same color.
For the sky, color with BG11 Copic Marker closest to the moon. Continuing out from the moon, color with BG15 and BG49, blending as you go.
Go back over the above colors with B93, B95, B97, B99 to tone back the green. Color the windows with YR7, Y15, Y17. Color the grass with BG90, BG93, BG96, BG99.
On Hero Hues Nautical cardstock, stamp the sentiment with Embossing and Watermark Ink. Sprinkle on White Detail Embossing Powder and heat.
Mount sentiment with foam tape. Cut card panel to 5 1/4” x 5 1/4” and mount on a Nautical 5 1/2” x 11” card base folded at 5 1/2” with foam tape. Add Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to moon and windows.
Misti 2.0 Review
I am in love with the new Misti Stamping Tool! I love the little overhang to grasp the top, which also doesn’t move loosely anymore. The etched ruler is great and so is the spot for the bar magnet. And maybe I’m just imagining it, but it even stamps smoother.
But my absolute favorite part is how thick the hinges are now and the pin inside is metal. The hinges are what broke on my original one so this was very important to me. It doesn’t look like this new Misti will be breaking any time soon!
Do you make Halloween cards? In my family this wouldn’t have to be a Halloween card. I’d give this to some people any time of the year!
Do you own a Misti Stamping Tool? I know it’s an investment but I had my previous one for three years and I used it on every stamped card. Cost per card would be very low.
