Ink Blending Large Die Cuts and Square Cards

Hello! I’m always excited to try a new to me company and new products. Today it’s the new dies from Scrapbook.com and they are wonderful! They are a great size to fill up an A2 or square card. They’d also make a great accent to a scrapbook page.

I used the Rainbow Wishes Decorative Die Set, Snowflake Winter Wishes Decorative Die Set and Heartfelt Wishes Decorative Die Set. The process was pretty much the same for all three cards.

Die cut all three dies from Bristol Smooth Cardstock. In addition, die cut the attached label for each die from masking paper and cover that portion of the die cut.

For the Rainbow Wishes Die cut, use the Ink Blending Tool and Domed Sponges to blend on Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral, Crackling Campfire and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides. While ink blending one arch, cover the others with masking paper. Try to keep the ink lighter towards the top.

For the Heartfelt Wishes and Snowflake Winter Wishes die cuts, use the Ink Blending Tool and Domed Sponges to blend with Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxides.

Splatter water on the ink blended die cuts, then splatter the colors used for ink blending. Splatter on some perfect pearls mixed with watered as well.

Cover the back of each die cut with foam strips and attach them to a 4 1/4” x 4 1/4” piece of white cardstock. Attach that panel with foam tape to Gina K Designs Bubblegum Pink Cardstock cut to 4 1/2” x 4 1/2”. Adhere this panel flat to a 5” x 10” piece of white cardstock scored and folded at 5”.

For the sentiment, die cut the additional label dies from Gina K Designs Bubblegum Pink Cardstock. Stamp the sentiment with Embossing and Watermark Ink. Cover with White Detail Embossing Powder and heat. Add the labels with foam tape.

The sentiments came from a Altenew Dot Art, Hero Arts Stacking Snowflakes and Hero Arts and Pink Fresh Studios You Make a Difference stamp sets.

To finish things off, add clear sequins and tiny star sequins.

I’ve really enjoyed using these dies and have a few ideas I look forward to creating. I’m also loving the Domed Sponges and plan to get more. If you’ve never tried them, you might want to!
