Hello! As you probably know, I love Hero Arts. I’ve subscribed to the My Monthly Hero kit for over two years now. While I try to make multiple cards using the kit, sometimes that just doesn’t happen. So today I’m combining the the September 2020 kit with the September 2018, which I never used before.
As I’m writing this, the September 2020 kit is still available but the September 2018 appears to be sold out. But my point isn’t necessarily about using these two kits. It’s more about revisiting your older kits and combining them with newer ones.

Begin by stamping the HeroScape from the September 2020 kit. I used Green Hills, Cup O’ Joe, Orange Soda, Just Rust dye inks. Die cut the image. Stamp scarecrow in Intens-ified Black Ink and die cut.
Die cut the leaf frame and oval dies from the September 2018 together from glitter cardstock included in September 2020 kit. Die cut just the leaf frame from 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” Hero Hues Pumpkin cardstock. Adhere glitter frame to panel. Blend Just Rust and Cup O’ Joe to edges.
Using a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece of white cardstock, blend on Reactive Inks in Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, Taffy, Thistle and Grape Slush.
Adhere HeroScape about a half inch up from bottom of ink blended panel but be sure it’s not higher than the bottom of frame. Using leaf frame for placement, position sentiment and bird stamps and stamp them in Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink.
Ink blend background inks on the white edges of the scarecrow to match the background. Adhere to the ink blended panel.
Adhere leaf frame over ink blended panel using either foam tape or adhered flat.
I haven’t used all the kits over the last two and a half years but I’ll also never get rid of them. I’ve often found eventually I will want to use them. Just like this time. I encourage you to pull out relevant older kits you own next time you’re using a new one.
Do you subscribe to My Monthly Hero? Right now they have some classic kits on sale. And of course they also just released their much anticipated October 2020 kit, which i believe is always the first Christmas kit from them each year. If you want it, don’t wait too long. It’s tends to sell out quick!
Do you combine old and new kits on cards? I’d love to see what you create! And I’d love it if you followed my blog.
