See Through Snow Globe Card – New A Blog Named Hero Challenge

Hello! There’s a new A Blog Named Hero challenge. A See Through Element! Here’s my take on that idea!

The die is on Sale!

This card uses the Layering Snow Globe Fancy Die which is currently on sale at Scrapbook.com. So head over there to grab it while you can!

Some links are affiliate links. At no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.

This is a tri-fold card so you need to cut two pieces of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock to measure 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”. Score and fold them at 4 1/4”. Let’s call them card base A and B. Card base A opens like a traditional card while B is reversed.

Using the circle die from the Layering Snow Globe Fancy Die set, cut it from the front and inside of card base A. Die cut the circle only from the front of card base B.

Be sure to line these up and make sure there is enough space at the bottom for the snowglobe base.

Die cut the snowglobe three times with the circle taped inside and all three snow scene layers from white cardstock.

Adhere the cards together with the back of card base B behind the back of card base A. Inside this circle place either dark blue cardstock or a night sky scene. I used a piece of a watercolor sky I created in Online Card Classes. Hero Arts has several great night sky stamps available in the Bold Print collection.

Adhere each snow scene behind a snow-globe die cut using liquid glue and cut off any overhang. Adhere the snow globes in front of the openings on each layer of the card, making sure they are lined up correctly.

Add N0 Copic Marker for shading on each side of snowglobe base. Add Lacquer Pen to left and bottom of images as an accent and along top on snowbanks and sprinkle on Icicle Pure White Glitter.

It would probably be better to stamp the sentiments from the Stacking Snowflakes stamp set onto the snowglobe bases before they are adhered to the card, but that never occurred to me!

Anyway, place the sentiments on the snowglobe base inside the Misti Stamping Tool, curving the words until they match the curve of the die cut. Stamp with Ombré Tide Pool to Navy Ink.

Add star sequins throughout the card inside and out.

I hope this tutorial made sense. Please let me know if anything needs clarification.
