Coloring with Distress Oxides – Colorado Craft Company & Anita Jeram

Hello! As requested, I’m sharing a simple coloring technique using the new Anita Jeram collection from Colorado Craft Company. I don’t know about you, but I’m in love with these stamps. I have two more cards in the works!

Some links below are affiliate links. At no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.

Begin by stamping the two dog images from the Wishing You Happiness stamp set with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. Sprinkle with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and heat with a heat gun. You can also head to Scrapbook.com to purchase the stamp set.

Using daubers blend on Distress Oxide in Antique Linen. Blend from tail, partway up body with Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo until desired shading is achieved. Sprinkle on water and blot with a towel to add texture. Set aside to dry.

Using the new low tack and repositionable Mint Tape from Scrapbook.com, mask off the edges of a 4” x 5 1/4” panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock the width of the tape. Blend on Distress Oxide in Crackling Campfire, Abandoned Coral and Worn Lipstick. Remove tape.

While the panel dries, die cut or fussy cut the images. The dies can be reserved at Colorado Craft Company or you can request to be notified when they are available at Scrapbook.com.

Determine placement of the sentiment and stamp with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. Adhere the small dog with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue. Add the larger dog with an action wobbler. Add panel to an A2 card base with foam tape.

I hope this helps show there are ways to to color these images that hopefully are less intimidating and don’t require tons of markers. But on that note, don’t be afraid! If you want to try some different coloring mediums, go for it!

I’d love to see what you been creating with the new Anita Jeram stamps. Add a link in the comments so I can see your projects!

I hope you found this post helpful. I’d appreciate it if you’d follow my blog.

Thanks for visiting!
