Modifying A Large Image With Partial Die Cutting

Hello! I’m back today to share how I modified an exclusive die from Scrapbook.com. And the die I’m using is on a great sale right now along with a lot of the products I’m using.

Some links below are affiliate links. At no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.

Place Snowflake Wishes die and Bristol Smooth cardstock on cutting plate. Place top cutting plate over snowflake die on top half of snowflake, making sure the label section is not covered. Run through die cutting machine.

Remove die from cardstock and flip it 180 degrees. Position the die cut back into the grooves of the die and hold in place with Mint Tape. Repeat the above placement of the cutting plates and run through machine.

Using a domed blending tool, apply Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide starting at the center and getting lighter toward the edges. Spritz with water and pat dry. Splatter with liquid shimmer.

Use darker pink cardstock from the new Scrapbook.com Sherbet Smooth Cardstock. Splatter on white paint and refill ink from the new Scrapbook.com Metallic Frost Pigment Ink. Set aside to dry.

Stamp sentiment from Make it Jolly stamp set. Die cut with label die from Snowflake Wishes die set.

Once panel is dry, cut bottom corner off and add to Hero Hues Arctic Cardstock with foam adhesive. Add sentiment at angle.

Add snowflake with foam adhesive. Add white hearts from Buttons Galore. Place on white A2 card base.

I love that this simple technique makes this die more versatile. Do you like to modify your die cutting?
