I love interactive cards! You may know that if you’ve followed me for a while. So it should come as no surprise that I decided to combine the Anita Jeram Collection from Colorado Craft Company with the Magic Iris die from Lawn Fawn. Read to the bottom to get a code for a 15% discount!

I’ll be up front with you about two things. First, I’m not 100% happy with how I laid this card out. Second, I recommend you head over to You Tube if you need help assembling the Magic Iris. I suggest watching Jennifer McGuire’s video.
I began by stamping all the images on Neenah cardstock with Gina K Designs Amalgam ink in Obsidian. I colored the images with Copic Markers and die cut them.
I used the following stamps and dies:
I cut a piece of Hero Hues Cranberry cardstock to 4” x 5 1/4” for the card panel. I used Hero Hues Arctic cardstock for the Magic Iris. Before adhering the top piece of the Magic Iris, stamp the sentiment in Gina K Designs Cherry Red Ink. I should have done the entire thing that color because you can see parts of the white cardstock at the edges.
Use the Magic Iris in the open position to place the image inside. Make sure the Magic Iris is closed when you adhere it to the panel so it will work properly.
After it’s attached, begin adhering the images with foam tape and liquid glue. Items on the right side need to be adhered flat to accommodate the lever.
This is where things went wrong for me. The card is too heavy on the left. I added stamped sentiments in Gina K Designs Cherry Red Ink as the cardstock to add a little to that side. I think if I had moved the lever to the top left I could have balanced things better. It’s not perfect but I know whoever receives it will love it anyway!
I used shimmer pen, white gel pen, stardust pen and Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard to add detail. The panel was then added to an A2 card base.
Do you have any suggestions how I could have altered things to balance it better? I’d love to hear in the comments!
