Assembly Line Die Cut Cards

Hello! I try to make sure I can use a stamp or die set for multiple cards before I get a new product. Even with monthly subscriptions like the December Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders.

This die set is pretty straightforward but I wanted to make multiple cards with it. Multiple cards with die sets like this can get really time consuming but assembly line style card making helps a lot.

Here are some tips I find helpful and how I assembled the cards. Supply list is at the end of this post.

1. Use colored cardstock instead of coloring pieces. The small tree was the only piece I colored.

2. Make the design similar. Use the same colors for each card when appropriate. I used white for the frames on each card and for the background.

3. Die cut as many pieces as possible at once. I even put the small cloud die inside the window die to cut them.

4. Complete all of one step at a time.

5. Die cut all pieces. Use scrap paper whenever possible.

6. Divide the pieces up for each card.

7. Add Darice thin foam strips to window frames. I placed a small piece at the center of the large window for stability.

8. Adhere all frames to a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece of Whisper Cardstock from Gina K Designs.

9. Adhere inner window pieces. I stamped birds on the blue ones before adding them.

10. Add the cats with foam tape. This helps determine placement for clouds.

11. Adhere clouds, tree, moon, raindrops.

12. Die cut sentiments from wood paper and back with white cardstock. Adhere with foam tape.

13. Add white gel pen to cats.

14. Add shimmer pen to clouds.

15. Add Nuvo Glitter Drops to rain drops.

16. Adhere white hearts below sentiment. Add one red heart above the two cats.

17. Adhere to white A2 card bases.

I felt like it went quicker this way. It certainly went smoother. It was much easier to keep things organized. I hope you’ll give assembly line card making a try!
