Two Watercolored Cards using Karin Brush Marker Pro

Hello! I recently purchase the 26 pack of Karin Brush Marker Pro markers. I considered the larger pack but decided having less colors to choose from might be better. I shared my first two attempts on Instagram recently but I think the two cards here turned out better. I’ll tell you what worked best for me so far.

1. Stamp the images from Anita Jeram Snowman & Bunnies on Arches Cold Press Watercolor Paper with Gina K Designs Amalgam ink in Obsidian.

2. Scribble the marker on Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat or another non porous surface.

3. Pick the color up with a water brush pen or a watercolor brush. I preferred the water brush pen. I applied the more concentrated color to one side and dragged it out while squeezing the water brush pen.

4. Once thoroughly dry, choose colored pencils in a similar color to markers. Beginning at the darker side, add pencil detail getting lighter as you move out.

5. Cut along the black outline of each image. Add foam adhesive and place on A2 card base.

6. Use a white gel pen to add snowflakes. This helps to hide any mistakes.

7. Using a Misti, stamp the sentiments from the Savvy Sentiments Friendship Greetings stamp set with Slumber ink from Pinkfresh Studio.

8. Add clay snowflakes with liquid glue.

I attempted to use Bristol Smooth paper but I didn’t get a smooth blend. I also tried to apply marker directly to paper and blend with either a water brush pen or the blender. Again it didn’t blend well for me and the pigment was too strong.

Originally there was a third card using the Anita Jeram Snow Good Sledding stamp set but unfortunately my dog decided to eat it! In better news, Colorado Craft Company is offering free shipping through today!
