Hello! I’m so happy to be returning for another year on the A Blog Named Hero Facebook Inspiration Team! This year, challenges will begin on the 1st of the month and end on the 26th. The winner will be announced shortly after that. This months challenge is Anything Goes so I’m sharing a card using new and older Hero Arts products.
1. Stamp the Sunburst Bold Prints Cling Stamp with Embossing and Watermark Ink on 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece Sand cardstock, sprinkle on White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.
2. Die cut the honey jar and dipper from Honey Pot Fancy Dies set from Sand cardstock and the bee and flower from the Bees and Flowers Fancy Dies set from white cardstock.
3. Color the die cut images with Copic markers. I used the following:
- honey jar & dipper – E15, E17, E18, E19
- bee – N4, N6, N8, YR27, Y15, Y17
- flower – YR27, Y15, Y17, E18, E19
- cover – N0, N2, N4
- twine – E42, E44
4. Die cut the heat embossed background panel using the 6th smallest die in the Hexagon Infinity Die set. I started in one corner and continued throughout the panel leaving a small gap between each die cut. Some should be partial cuts that go over the edge.
5. Arrange the die cut hexagons on another panel of Sand cardstock cut to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. Adhere with liquid glue. I used the leftover negative portion to help me space out the hexagons.
6. Cut the panel to 4” x 5 1/4”. Add to an A2 card base made from Sand cardstock with foam tape.
7. Stamp the sentiment from Unbearably Thankful stamp set with Intens-ified Black Ink on Mustard cardstock. Cut out with same Hexagon Infinity Die. color the edges with YR27, Y15, Y17 Copic markers.
8. Adhere cover to honey jar with liquid glue. Add bee to cover with liquid glue.
9. Add spoon to honey jar with foam strip. One layer is needed for part that overlaps jar and two layers for the bottom.
10. Add honey jar to card with foam adhesive.
11. Add sentiment and flower overlapping honey jar with foam tape.
12. Apply honey lacquer pen from the January 2021 My Monthly Hero kit as if dripping from spoon down the jar. Put some below the jar to ground the images. Allow to dry.
I love how easy this card really was to create. The most difficult aspect was die cutting the background which could be left out if desired. Instead of Copic coloring the images, they could be ink blended or pick colored cardstock and leave them alone.

WOWOWOW! What an awesome card. This is the first card I’ve seen using the honey lacquer that really looks like honey. Your coloring is wonderful. The honeycomb background was so worth the time it took to cut and glue. Thanks for including the great details and the Copic colors used
