Hello! A new challenge started at A Blog Named Hero yesterday. This months it’s Florals. Today I’m sharing one of my favorite ways to use multiple stamps from one stamp set. It’s also great for when I’m feeling uninspired.
1. Create the background by placing multiple stamps from the February 2021 My Monthly Hero kit on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock cut to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”.
Cluster the stamps together in one corner and use a Misti Stamping Tool to stamp several stamps at a time. I used Intensi-fied Black Ink as it is Copic friendly.
2. Repeat step 1 until the page is full. When arranging the stamps, make sure you’re not leaving any large gaps between images. Small gaps will be filled in later. Have some images hanging off the panel as well.
3. Once panel is full, fill in any gaps with small stamps. For my card, I used the tiny flowers.
4. Color the images on the panel. I used the following Copic markers:
- R30, R32, R35, R39
- YR00, YR02, YR04, YR07
- Y11, Y15, Y17
- G21, G24, G28
- BG23, BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78
5. Begin with the lightest color over all or most of the image then add the darkest and work back from there.
For the largest flower I added R30 from center of flower to about halfway out, then added it from tip of flower in but not joining the other end. Next I add a small amount of R39 at both ends, then repeat with R35 and R32. I finish by blending with R30 again, leaving just the smallest white highlight in center of flower.
6. Color in the background with BG 23. Make sure you have enough ink to handle such a large space. Sometimes I leave the background white but I thought the flowers would pop more with a contrasting color.
7. Add white dots with a gel pen to background.
8. Stamp sentiment on Nautical cardstock with Embossing and Watermark Ink. Sprinkle on White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. Cut down to size. Add to panel with foam strips.
9. Place panel on a white A2 card base.
