Hello! Today, it’s all about the backgrounds. I’ve created two cards using the Cardmakers Stamp Collection from Spellbinders. Did you know they are having a Die Cutting Sale-bration through Monday May 24? After you’re done reading my post, go check it out!

1. Stamp the Windy Sky Clear Stamp Set on a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Concord and 9th Midnight Ink. The Windy Sky Clear Stamp Set is in stock at Scrapbook.com.

2. Using the same ink, blend over it with an blending brush. I also added a little Eggplant Ink to the edges. Set aside to dry.

3. Stamp the image from Cute Boots Clear Stamp Set on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Intens-ified Black Ink. Color it with the following Copic Markers: Y08, Y11, Y15, Y17, E13, E15, E17, R30, R32, R35. The Cute Boots Clear Stamp set is in stock at Scrapbook.com.

Fussy cut the image. I originally had stamped and masked this image then stamped the background but it didn’t like it so I just used the image on a new background.

4. Using a die or paper trimmer, cut the panel to 3 3/4” x 5”.

5. Cover some of the dots with Tonic Nuvo Drops in White Blizzard. Loosely follow swirls adding the same Nuvo Drops. Let dry.

6. Add background panel to an A2 card base cut from Hero Hues Nautical cardstock with foam tape.

7. Stamp sentiment from Cute Boots Clear Stamp Set on Nautical cardstock using Embossing and Watermark Ink. Sprinkle on White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. Cut to size. The Cute Boots Clear Stamp set is in stock at Scrapbook.com.

8. Add image and sentiment with thin foam squares. Cover umbrella with Glossy Accents. Let dry.

1. Stamp sentiment from Cute Boots Clear Stamp Set in desired location on a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with Intens-ified Black Ink. The Cute Boots Clear Stamp set is in stock at Scrapbook.com.

2. Stamp images from Cute Boots Clear Stamp set around the sentiment with Intens-ified Black Ink. Repeat until panel is full. Both umbrellas are stamped six times. The Heart is from Darling Hugs Clear Stamp Set. The Cute Boots Clear Stamp set is in stock at Scrapbook.com.

3. Color the images with Copic Markers: R30, R32, R35, YR00, YR02, YR07, Y11, Y15, Y17, YG00, YG03, YG17, BG10, BG11, BG15, V00, V01, V06

4. Add shadows behind the images using N0, N2, N4, 0.

5. Add black dots through background using 100.

6. Adhere to an A2 card base with double sided adhesive tape.

I love creating fun backgrounds. I especially love creating them with individual stamps. How do you like to create backgrounds? Now, head over to check out the Die Cutting Sale!
