Monochromatic Card Challenge

Hello! The current challenge at A Blog Named Hero is Monochrome. That’s not something I’m always very good at but I gave it a go here! Plus I tried a new technique.

1. Swipe or press Reactive Inks in Thistle, Grape Slush and Purple Galaxy on a gel plate. Use a brayer to smooth the ink.

2. Press a piece of Bristol Smooth paper on the gel plate and run your hands over it to transfer the ink.

3. Repeat steps one and two until you have the desired result. There was still a little ink left so I pressed a second piece of paper on it. Allow to dry.

4. Arrange images from Line Art Flowers on inked paper in Misti. Stamp images with Purple Galaxy Reactive Ink. I had to stamp them twice to get a crisp image. Repeat until paper is full. Cut out the desired portion with a Rectangle Infinity Die.

5. Stamp the sentiment on the leftover inked paper with Grape Slush all over and Purple Galaxy on bottom only. Cut a strip and adhere with foam adhesive.

6. Add clear drops in varying sizes to the flower centers.

7. Adhere panel to an A2 card base with double sided adhesive.

This is the first time I’ve used a gel plate so I just did something really simple but there are some great videos and blogs out there to check out.

There’s still time to enter your projects into the Monochrome challenge! Please check out the A Blog Named Hero Facebook Page for more inspiration!
