Hello! I’m thrilled to be a guest designer for Papertrey Ink this month. Today I’m sharing a floral card that was transformed after adding detail to the background. Here’s a look at the new release items I’ll be using.
1. Stamp the images from Sidewalk Chalk stamp set using Pinkfresh Studio Inks. Scroll to the bottom to see what colors I used. Stamp the leaves and smaller single flowers twice. Stamp the tiny dots in center of flowers with Altenew Antique Gold Pigment Ink. Die cut images with coordinating dies.
2. Cut a piece of Nautical Cardstock to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. Use the Border Bling Flower Frame die to emboss the design on the cardstock. Follow the instructions for your die cutting machine.
3. Stamp label stamp from Vintage Travel Stamp Set and sentiment from Inside Greetings Wish You Were Here Mini Stamp Set in Pinkfresh Studio Ink. Die cut with coordinating dies.
4. Adhere the label to a piece of Curious Metallics Gold Leaf cardstock and cut a thin border. Add foam tape and place in center of card panel.
5. Arrange the flowers above and below the sentiment. The flowers are on foam tape and the leaves are adhered with Bearly Arts Precision Glue.
6. Adhere Sunny Studios Rainbow Pearls throughout card with Bearly Arts Precision Glue.
7. Slightly curl the leaves and petals for added interest and dimension.
8. Place panel on an A2 top fold card base with double sided adhesive tape.
Originally, I had added everything except the pearls to a plain piece of Nautical cardstock but wasn’t happy. So I walked away for a while. When I came back, I got the idea to emboss with the Border Bling Flower Frame die. I think it was just what the card needed. It also meant I had to remove everything but luckily I’d only used foam tape and tape runner. I took a picture before I did anything then I gently pulled everything off, embossed the panel and put everything back on. The background was subtle but perfect!
