Hello! I’m so excited to share this card with you. I love a wreath on a card and this one worked out so well. All of the products in the July release from Spellbinders are incredible! Be sure to check them out after you’ve read my tutorial.
1. Starting at the center of a piece of Bristol Smooth paper cut to 3 3/4” x 5”, blend on Speckled Egg Distress Ink, fading to white before getting to the edges.
2. Use a circle die to trace a circle lightly in pencil.
3. Die cut the following from the Christmas Blooms Etched Dies and Create a Christmas Sentiment Etched Dies:
- leaf sprig 12 times from Nautical Cardstock
- large leaf and small leaf four times from Curious Metallic White Silver Cardstock
- large pine sprig and small pine sprig twice from Curious Metallic White Silver Cardstock
- pine cone once from Curious Metallic White Silver Cardstock
- Large flower and small flower once from white cardstock
- holidays and greetings die cut words twice, once from Curious Metallic White Silver Cardstock and once from Nautical Cardstock
4. Apply a small amount of Bearly Arts Precision Glue to the bottom stem of leaf sprig and place on pencil line. Allow the sprig to angle away from the circle.
5. Repeat this process until wreath is complete. I placed each sprig about three leaves apart.
6. Add small and large leaves throughout wreath except where pine cone will go.
7. Adhere pinecone pieces together and place on wreath with a foam square. Add large and small pine sprigs behind pinecone with Bearly Arts Precision Glue just and end of stem.
8. Splatter card panel with white gouache and Metallic Frost reinker. Allow to dry.
9. Adhere the silver word on top of navy word, slightly offset, with liquid glue. Cut the “s” off “holidays”. Once panel is dry, adhere with liquid glue.
10. Using the stylus tool from Susan’s Garden Ultimate Toolkit, shape flowers by pressing down center with flowers on soft foam from toolkit. Adhere the top and bottom pieces together and place near pinecone with liquid glue. You may need to hold them in place with tweezers until dry.
11. Add white pearls to flower centers and panel.
12. Add panel to a top fold card base with foam tape.
This card requires some prep, but overall it was quite easy to assemble. I was frightened when I added the splatter but I’m so glad I did! Head over to Spellbinders to check out the new release. I have many more cards coming soon with their products over the next few weeks. Spellbinders is also having a Christmas in July sale until Sunday, July 25. Be sure to check that out as well!
Thanks for visiting!
