Hello! I’ve got another card to share with you using the new Make Magic Collection from Simon Says Stamp. I began thinking about using acetate with color behind it but it wasn’t until I saw this video from Jennifer McGuire that I figured out how to make it work with a double layer card front!
The Sun and Moon Mandala stamp is on Reserve until August 9. This means you can order it and they will ship it and the rest of your order once it is in stock.
1 Cut a piece of acetate to 4 1/4” x 6”. The extra half inch will help us attach the acetate later. Cut a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”.
2. Stamp the Sun and Moon Mandala on acetate using Staz-On Jet Black Ink. Remember the half inch at the top won’t be seen!
3. Using stamped acetate as a guide blend on Bristol panel with Concord and 9th ink in Marmalade, Sorbet and Buttercup. Keep the darker ink in the center of the sun, getting lighter as you move away.
4. Once everything is dry, cut Bristol panel to 4” x 5 1/4” and the acetate to 4” x 5 3/4”. Make sure the darkest ink stays in center of sun.
5. Place acetate over blended panel and place in Misti. Place larger word from Magical to Me stamp set in center of sun and pick it up with Misti door. Remove acetate and stamp on Bristol panel with Altenew Pigment Ink in Obsidian. Remove stamp and place smaller one close to the other and stamp with the same ink.
6. Score and fold the acetate about 1/2” from the top. Add double sided tape to top of acetate and place over blended panel.
7. Add clear drops to the acetate panel with liquid glue. Once they dry, add black star sequins to the Bristol panel.
8. Add this layered card front to a white card base with foam tape.
I love the way the acetate looks and how there are things on both layers in this double layer card. This Make Magic Collection from Simon Says Stamp is amazing. There are so many more products I’d love to use. Be sure to check it out and let me know what you love best.
