Hello! Today I’m sharing a card I made using Spellbinders new Open House Collection. I was going for a autumnal look to the card with the flowers like mums and a warm glow inside the house as you arrive home after dark.

  1. Die cut the door and pieces from the Open House Door Base and topiary pieces from Open House Topiary dies from Bristol Smooth cardstock. Die cut the mailbox, doorknob and bow from Curious Metallic Gold Leaf cardstock. I think the door should be run through the platinum 6 with the embossing plate and pad after die cutting to make the features more pronounced. I didn’t do it but I will next time.
  2. Color the pieces as follows:
  3. Cut a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock to 3” x 8”. Score lines every half inch along cardstock. It’s hard to see in the photo but looks great in person.
  4. Adhere the door and the rest of the pieces that go with it with liquid glue.
  5. Assemble and adhere the flower pots on each side of the door, leaving out the long piece. The flowers can hang over a bit because a slimline envelope is larger.
  6. Color the leaves with Copic markers. If you have small ink blending tools you could use the inks from above.
  7. Adhere leaves and bow with liquid glue.
  8. Hot foil the sentiment from the Mini Christmas Sentiment Strip Glimmer Hot Foil set with Polished Brass Hot Foil Roll. Die cut with strip die included and adhere to panel with foam tape.
  9. Adhere panel to a slimline card cut to 7” x 8 1/2”, scored and folded at 3 1/2”.

I really like this Open House Collection. The dies also work with the Always Welcome Large Die of the Month if you’ve got that. I’ll have more cards coming soon with this collection.

Thanks for visiting!
