Hello! Only two more days to enter the August Background Basics at A Blog Named Hero. Plenty of time to get a simple project done. I’ve created a card with a background to minimizes the amount you’ll have to move your stamps.

1. Place the largest arc from the Rainbow Heroscape stamp set in the top right corner of a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece of white cardstock in a Misti. Be sure that the stamp does not cross the halfway point of the card panel. Stamp with Fruit Punch Reactive Ink.

2. Turn the panel 180° and repeat.

3. Place the next arc and repeat steps 1 and 2 until rainbow is complete. I used the following Reactive Inks:

4. Once the rainbow is complete, arrange cloud stamp under rainbow. Gently rock Pool Party Ink Cube along the edges. Use a blending brush or towel to soften the ink and stamp. Repeat as necessary.

5. Turn panel 180° and repeat step 4.

6. Place the large cloud on the panel below the first rainbow. Repeat step 4.

7. Turn panel 180° and repeat step 6.

8. Start with the second arc because it fits into the cloud nicely.

9. Continue to stamp all the colors, turning 180° each time. I used the same colors as the first.

10. Fill in any empty spaces throughout the panel with hearts stamped in Taffy and diamonds stamped in Blue Raspberry Reactive Inks.

11. Die cut happy birthday from Birthday Stamp and Cut XL from Pitch Black Cardstock four times. Adhere together with liquid glue.

12. Stamp sub sentiment from Rainbow Heroscape stamp set with Embossing and Watermark Ink on Pitch Black Cardstock. Sprinkle with White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.

13. Cut panel down to 4” x 5 1/4” and mount to a top fold A2 card base with foam tape.

14. Add die cut sentiment and sub sentiment to card with foam tape for sub sentiment.

I think the rainbow lines up better with the cloud if you stamp the cloud first but for this card I had to be sure that I had enough space that I could turn the panel and stamp again.
