Welcome to the Stamptember Blog Party! I’m so excited to be a part of this today. I’ve got a Halloween card to share with you that’s just too cute! I had so much fun creating with the stamp set that Simon Says Stamp sent me.

Check out the graphic above for a free gift! When you spend $30 or more use the code NBY8L42 to get an exclusive Happy Birthday Die free. This offer is only available today, September 2, 2021 until 11:59pm EDT.

1. Lay the Mushroom House Stencil on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock cut to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. Trace it with a light Copic marker. I used N0 but it will disappear once you start coloring.

Originally, I was going to use distress oxide inks on the stencil but I decided I could get the look that I wanted easier with Copic markers.

2. Stamp the gnome, moon and stars from the Halloween Gnomies stamp set on the panel with Intense Black Ink. If you plan to ink blend the background you’ll want to stamp and fussy cut masks as well.

3. Color the mushroom house. I began by outlining the area in the lightest color I was using, then coloring the area as normal. I used the following Copic markers: N0, N2, N4, N8, 100, V000, V09, V12, V15, Y11, Y15, Y17

4. Color the witch, stars and moon. I used the following Copic markers: V000, V09, V12, V15, N0, N2, N4, YG0000, YG00, Y11, Y15, Y17

5. Color the background. I used Copic markers B93, B95, B97, B99. Make sure you have refills handy before you start the section. I first colored the entire panel with B93. Then I came in from the bottom right corner with B99. I put down very little at first, then added B97 next B95 and then back to B93. I try to work in a circle with the lightest being around the moon.

My best advice is to be conservative on how much dark color you use at first. Imagine both how this scene would look in real life and also how you want the scene to look. It certainly does not need to be realistic and even minimal shading can bring things to life.

6. Stamp the sentiment with Embossing Ink. Sprinkle with White Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.

7. Mask off the top of the house with some post it tape. Stamp the spider web and spider with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. Sprinkle with Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set.

8. Add Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen over stars, moon, window, top of house and witches hat. Trace lines behind witch with Stardust Pen.

9. Adhere to an A2 top fold card base.

I just love this stamp set! If I had coordinating dies, I probably would have used distress oxide inks for the background and maybe the Mushroom House die instead of the stencil. I might even have made it interactive!

I’m so excited to see all of the products being released for Stamptember. I know I’ll be placing at least one order.

I will be back with a minimum of two more cards using Stamptember products this month. Subscribe to my blog so you’ll know when I do so.

Thanks for visiting!
