Hello! Hero Arts really outdid themselves with the November My Monthly Hero release. The kit is absolutely adorable and the add ons amazing! As always, read to the end for giveaway information!
November is here and the holiday season is upon us! With our November My Monthly Hero kit, we have everything you need to create adorable handmade tags and/or gift toppers for all of your Christmas gift-giving. The dies in this kit are equally great for cards, scrapbook pages and even felt ornaments! We’ve included a stamp set with patterns to decorate the tag pieces, and plenty of holiday-themed messages, too. To round out the kit, we’ve included cardstock and glitter paper for die cutting your characters. White Puff Embossing Powder is fun for adding some dimensional texture, and our Lacquer Pen adds dimensional shine. And last but not least, there’s festive red & white twine for embellishing, or attaching your tags to gifts.
1. Die cut all the dies included in the November My Monthly Hero Kit from the included cardstock. Die cut the head three more times. I only snipped off the head die to cut it multiple times. Everything else is still attached.
2. Color the die cut pieces with Copic markers. I used the following: E00, E11, E13, E50, E53, E55, E57, E59, E43, E44, R00, R20, R35, R37, R39, G28, G24, YG67, BG000, W1, W3, N2, N4, N8, 100, 0. Copic markers are linked below.
3. Stamp the stripes on snowman’s scarf with Red Royal ink. I masked off the different sections so the stripes changed direction.
4. Stamp the dots on the reindeer’s scarf with Embossing and Watermark Ink. Sprinkle on White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I did not mask anything off this time.
5. Assemble the characters with liquid glue.
6. Add Lacquer Pen to noses, bell on elf hat and snowman eyes. Add Sparkle Lacquer Pen to berries and Santa’s pom pom.
7. Add white gel pen highlights and loop twine through hole.
1. Cut a piece of Pebble cardstock to 5” x 7”.
2. Die cut the fireplace from Fireplace Stamp and Cut XL out of white cardstock.
3. Make a pencil line where the Pebble cardstock where the top and center of the fireplace will be.
4. Stamp the images also from the Fireplace Stamp and Cut XL along the line with Intense Black Ink. Stamp masks at the same time and cover images.
5. Mask off the area above about 1” from bottom. Tape down Woodgrain Stencil over bottom section.
6. Apply Cup o’ Joe ink over Woodgrain Stencil. Remove stencil and add more ink to soften lines. Mask off the stenciled section.
7. Stamp the Flower Garden Bold Prints over the panel with Unicorn White Ink. Allow to dry.
8. Remove image masks and color images with the following Copic markers: R35, R37, R39, G28, G24, E59, E57, E55, W0, W1, W3, BG000, BG01, BG15, N0, N2, 0. The N0 and N2 were added around the the images to separate them from the background. Copic markers are linked below.
9. Stamp the layered fire images inside the fireplace. I used Wet Cement and Cup o’ Joe for the logs and Butter Bar and Just Rust for the fire. Color around the fire with Y15. Then color over it with E43, E44, E47, E49. Copic markers are linked below.
10. Adhere the fireplace to the panel with liquid glue.
11. Color the stockings with the following Copic markers: R35, R37, R39, G28, G24, G21, BG000, BG01, BG15, W0, W1, W3, 0. Add white gel pen to the lines and dots on them. Die cut with coordinating die. Copic markers are linked below.
12. Codor the elf with the following Copic markers, R20, R39, G28, E11. Fussy cut image. Copic markers are linked below.
13. Add the stocking and elf with thin foam squares.
14. Stamp the sentiment with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink.
15. Add Lacquer Pen to logs, candles and berries. Add Sparkle Lacquer Pen to candle flames. Add Glimmer Pen to fire, trees, pine cones and candlesticks.
16. Add panel to an A7 card base.
GIVEAWAY:
Hero Arts will give away ALL OF THE NOVEMBER ADD-ON PRODUCTS, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, November 7th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.
Since we have a very hyper 10 month old labrador, we won’t be adding any breakable ornaments to our Christmas tree this year. The ornaments would be perfect in case our tree gets tipped over! The gray and white background of the card was inspired by Nichol Spohr’s cards from last months release. I’ve got several more projects in the works with this release. I can’t wait to share them with you!
Thanks for visiting!

I love the shading on the tags. I usually just do a flat line in the areas where I need shading, then blend it in. However, I am now going to try to C.A.S.E. what you did and try to use a flick motion. It looks amazing
