Hello! There’s a new release from Simon Says Stamp called To the Moon and it’s amazing. Today, I’ve got two cards that use the same stamp and have two very different looks.
1. Stamp the moon and stars from the Loving Sun and Moon cling stamp with Intense Black Ink on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock cut to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. Stamp on masking paper, cut out and place over images.
2. Mask off about 1/2” on each side of stamped panel with tape or masking paper.
3. Lay the circle portion of the Polka Heart stencil over the unmasked portion. Mask off hearts.
4. Add Pawsitively Saturated Inks through stencils. All of the area should be covered with Marine. Add Cadette from edges part of the way in. Add Royal just to edges.
5. Reposition stencil and add color to the panel the same way.
6. Remove stencil and apply the same inks in the same manner over entire unmasked area. Remove all masks.
It was at this point I decided I wanted to leave the images uncolored. They are so striking on their own, I thought coloring would not improve anything. What do you think?
7. Cut panel down 1/8” on each side. This is a good time to be sure everything is even and straight.
8. Stamp sentiment from Greetings Mix 1 with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink.
9. Add iridescent jewels with Bearly Arts Precision Glue.
10. Add panel to an A2 card base with foam tape.
1. Stamp moon and stars from the Loving Sun and Moon cling stamp on a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece of Adriatic cardstock with Embossing and Watermark Ink. Add gold embossing powder and heat set.
2. Paint the images with the variety of gold watercolors in the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Metallic watercolor set. Hero Arts cardstock is very thick and while the paper warped, it was able to handle the amount of water needed for the moon just fine.
3. Allow image to dry then add ink to the edges. It was fairly easy to wipe off any ink that got on the colored areas.
4. Splatter the panel with one of the gold paints in the set.
5. Stamp sentiment from Tiny Words stamp set with Embossing and Watermark Ink on a scrap of Nautical cardstock. Sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.
6. Cut down sentiment and adhere with foam tape.
7. Add metallic gold drops with Bearly Arts Precision Glue throughout.
8. Use a very strong glue to add panel to an A2 card base.
I love that with just this one stamp, I could create two completely different cards. The stencil set is quite clever and I’m sure there will be amazing artists using it in unique ways!
I’d love it if you’d subscribe. Thanks for visiting!
Your cards are both beautiful Jennifer
Thank you so much Sandi!
