Hello! I’m so excited that I am a member of the Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero challenge team! I’ve been with A Blog Named Hero since 2019 and I’m so happy to continue as we make this exciting change. This months challenge is Anything Goes.
Today’s card came about as a happy accident. I created the congrats die but it didn’t work for my other project. It was sitting on my desk when I dropped the cloud die on it and I was instantly inspired!
1. Stamp the Swirls and Dots Bold Print with Unicorn White Pigment Ink on a piece of Adriatic cardstock cut to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. Set aside to dry.
2. Die cut the Congrats from Congrats and Yay Stamp and Cut XL out of Peony, Gold Glitter and twice from white cardstocks.
3. Add Ultra Pink and Raspberry Jam inks to the Peony die cut for an ombre look. Adhere over the gold glitter die cut. Add the two white die cuts behind the gold.
4. Die cut the Cloud Window Fancy Die once from regular vellum and once from Curious Translucent Iridescent Pearl cardstock .
5. Adhere regular vellum on the stamped panel first, then add the iridescent vellum rotating it 180°.
I used Precision Glue XL in a thin line around the edges of both pieces of vellum. The iridescent vellum was thick enough that it didn’t really show through. I had considered a thin frame around the edge if the glue showed too much.
6. Add the die cut word, tucking it under the Curious Translucent Iridescent Pearl cardstock.
7. Stamp the sub-sentiment with Ultra Pink and Raspberry Jam inks for an ombre effect. Adhere below die cut with foam adhesive.
8. Adhere three gold glitter stars cut from the Star Wreath die and metallic gold drops.
9. Add panel to an A2 card base with adhesive tape.
The teal cardstock helps the sentiment really pop but when it was plain, it just wasn’t enough. Adding the subtle white stamping really pulled things together. If the white is too strong for your taste, you could try an ink that was just slightly darker than the cardstock color.
