Hello! I’m so happy to be a part of the March Clubs blog hop for Spellbinders today. I’m using the Glimmer of the Month. I had a wonderful idea for my card but I messed it up pretty badly. I’m going to share how it was supposed to be done. I’ll tell you what went wrong and how I managed to save my card.

1. Die cut four hexagon from the Geo Foliage Glimmer Plate set from Hammermill cardstock.

2. Hot foil the March Glimmer of the month plates with Black Hot Foil Roll on each hexagon.

If you figure out the layout of the hexagons as you work, you won’t need to hot foil the entire panel, just the parts that show.

3. Color all the flowers and leaves. I used Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Sprout, Fairway and Field.

This is where I messed up. I added Pawsitively Saturated Inks to each flower and leaf with a small blending brush. I should have masked the edge of each image then colored them. I got ink out of the lines everywhere. It looked terrible!

To save my card, I die cut the images out of the hexagons and die cut four new hexagons. I placed the die cut images on the new hexagons using the old ones as templates. Think it worked out pretty well!

4. Adhere the hexagons to the card base with foam tape. Cut off any overhang.

5. Hot foil the sentiment from Sentiments for Everyday Glimmer Plates on Hammermill cardstock with Copper Hot Foil Roll. Cut into a strip. Add a strip of Glossy Black Cardstock offset. Adhere to card with thin foam squares.

6. Add Black Onyx Droplets with Bearly Arts Precision Glue.

I’m happy with how my card turned out despite messing it up! I hope to recreate this at some point and do it right.
