Spellbinders New 3D Embossing Folders

Hello! Spellbinders released ten 3D embossing folders in June along with their new Universal Plate System. I’ve used several of the new 3D embossing folders in previous posts and I will link to them at the end of this post.

I’ve been using the new Universal Plate System for a while now and I really like it. It lists the different sandwiches needed for so many different ways to use the Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine. It does work with a few other machines but I don’t own them. The sandwich I used for all of the embossing folders is Platform Base (A), 3D embossing folder, Adapter Plate (D). The die cutting sandwich is Platform Base (A), Platform Top (B), Cutting Plate (C), paper, die, Cutting Plate (C).

1. Die cut a rainbow of cardstock colors using the Color Block Mini Hexagon die. I used Cranberry, Canary, Papaya, Meadow and Peacock

2. Adhere with repositionable adhesive to a piece of printer paper. They need to be snug against each other.

3. Place hexagon paper in Puff Dotty 3D Embossing Folder and run through die cutting machine.

4. Remove each embossed hexagon and adhere to a piece of Pitch Black cardstock cut to 3 3/4” x 5”. Some are adhered with thin foam squares and other are adhered flat with Bearly Arts Precision Glue.

They didn’t always line up perfectly so adhering them at different heights helps to disguise that.

5. Die the the sentiment from Yana’s Layered Script Sentiments three times from Pitch Black cardstock and the shadow once from vellum. Adhere two of the black die cuts to the top of the vellum shadow and one below the shadow.

6. Hot foil the sentiment from Birthday Unboxing glimmer plates with Aura Hot Foil Roll on Hammermill cardstock. Cut into a strip and adhere with foam tape.

7. Place panel on an A2 card base with foam tape and add Color Essentials Gems in Onyx throughout.

1. Emboss the Beveled Diamond 3D Embossing Folder on a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece of white cardstock.

2. Die cut the largest balloon from the Color Block Balloons dies out of a rainbow of colors. I used Cranberry, Canary, Papaya, Meadow, Peacock and Iris

3. Attach each section of balloon in rainbow order with repositionable adhesive to a piece of printer paper.

4. Line up ballon over embossed panel and place in the Beveled Diamond 3D Embossing Folder in same location and run through die cutting machine.

5. Adhere the balloon pieces to another piece of printer paper with Bearly Arts Precision Glue, making sure they are snug. Cut the paper to smaller than balloon.

6. Adhere the balloon to the embossed panel with foam tape, lining it up with embossing under it.

7. Hot foil the sentiment from Birthday Unboxing glimmer plates with Aura Hot Foil Roll and adhere with foam tape.

8. Place panel on an A2 card base and adhere a rainbow of sequins throughout.

I have also used the new 3D Embossing Folders in the following posts:

Be sure to check out the new 3D embossing folders and Universal Plate System when you can. The folders are fun and the new plate system in so helpful.
