Hello! I get comments about making cards so quickly. Well, I have a secret to share with you. Most of the elements on these cards were created ahead of time. When I used the sentiments for the first time, I didn’t hot foil just what I needed, I hot foiled them all. Aura is my go to Hot Foil Roll but I can always go back and foil with a different color (and I’ll hot foil them all this time too!)
In addition, I embossed all of the 3D embossing folders on white cardstock when I got them. If I want a different color, I can ink blend on then or emboss one from colored cardstock. And lastly, I die cut the flowers from multiple colors in my scraps the first I used them as well.
So you see, it was mostly a matter of assembling the previously made pieces. Even the diamond was created ahead of time.
1. Hot foil the Plaid Tidings Background Glimmer Plate with Red Hot Foil Roll. Save the leftover, negative foiling.
I used the panel I created for a card in Tuesday’s post.
2. Place the negative foiling shiny side up on white cardstock then line up the Glimmer Essential Solid Diamond Plate facedown over it. Proceed with hot foiling as usual. I leave the plate on the glimmer machine a little after the light stops blinking and I add an extra paper shim.
3. Die cut the diamond with Essential Diamonds Etched Dies and a second diamond one size up from Indigo cardstock. Adhere together.
4. Emboss a piece of white cardstock with the Knock On Wood 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to an A2 card base. Add diamond with craft foam.
5. Hot foil the sentiment from Merry Glimmer Sentiments on white cardstock with Aura Hot Foil Roll. Cut out with coordinating dies as well as two blanks. Adhere together.
6. Die cut Holiday Blooms Etched Dies from a variety of cardstock colors.
7. Adhere sentiment and flowers to hot foiled diamond with Bearly Art Precision Glue and thin foam squares.
8. Add jewels to the flower center and across card with liquid glue.
1. Hot foil the Blooming Ornament Glimmer Plate and the sentiment from Glitter Wishes Glimmer Plates on white cardstock with Aura Hot Foil Roll. Die cut with coordinating dies and strip die for sentiment.
2. Color the ornament with copic markers. The colors I used are listed below.
3. Emboss a piece of white cardstock cut to 4” x 5 1/4” with the Plaid Tidings Background Glimmer Plate. I used the same Universal Plate System sandwich used for embossing with dies. Adhere to an A2 card base with craft foam.
4. Attach ornament and sentiment strip to card with thin foam squares.
5. Add red pearls across card with Bearly Art Precision Glue.
1. Create card base by folding an 8 1/2” x 11” piece of white cardstock in half. Place largest Essential Arches Etched Die with left side hanging just off the fold. Run through Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine. You may need to run it through twice to cut all the way through.
2. Die cut apiece of white cardstock with the same die. Emboss this with Beautiful Blooms 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to card base.
3. Die cut Indigo cardstock with largest arch die and one two sizes smaller at the same time. Adhere to card with foam strips.
4. Hot foil the sentiment from Merry Glimmer Sentiments on white cardstock with Aura Hot Foil Roll. Cut out with coordinating dies as well as two blanks. Adhere together.
5. Die cut Holiday Blooms Etched Dies from a variety of cardstock colors.
6. Adhere flower and sentiment to card with liquid glue. Add red pearls to flower and across panel.
