Hello! It’s release day at Spellbinders and in addition to the Tiered Tray Collection I’m sharing today, they also released the 3d Vignette Collection from Becca Feeken and a New & Improved Platinum 6 machine.
Today, though, I’m sharing a card using the new Tiered Tray Collection by Becky Roberts. If you follow her on Instagram, you’ve probably seen her beautiful tiered tray displays and I am so excited to be able to share a card based off them!
1. Emboss a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” piece of white cardstock with the Tufted 3d Embossing Folder and adhere to an A2 card base.
2. Die cut the pieces from the Tiered Tray Dies and Tiered Tray Decor Dies from Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Solar White cardstock. Color with Copic Markers listed and linked below.
I die cut multiples of each die so next time I’m ready to go. I also kept the dies in the cardstock sheet I cut them from with a little Mint Tape on the back. It’s easier to keep the pieces under control when coloring.
3. Stamp the sentiment from Tiered Tray Sentiments with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink.
I usually stamp the sentiment after embossing because I like to use a pigment ink for the darkest black I can get and I don’t want embossing to smear it. Usually I just need to press a little harder on the MISTI.
4. Assemble and adhere the tiered tray to the card. Be sure to only put glue on the edges so you’ll be able to tuck title die cuts.
5. Add adhesive and tuck die cuts in trays. I used Bearly Arts Precision Glue and reverse tweezers.
I chose to adhere everything flat this time but these die cuts would be great popped up on foam squares. These products would also be great for a shadow box or pop up of some kind.
6. Stamp the books with Embossing Ink, add White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set before adhering to card.
If I were decorating a tiered tray in my house, this is pretty much what it would look like. Using a 3d embossing folder that looks like a pillow or blanket seemed perfect for a home theme card.
Be sure to check out all the new arrivals on the Spellbinders website. Thanks for visiting!
