Spellbinders February releases are the Four Petal Collection and Simon Hurley’s Metamorphosis Collection. They are both absolutely stunning. I’m starting with some beautiful butterflies today!
1. Use a blending brush to add Lost Shadow Distress Oxide to an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2” piece of white cardstock. Splatter with water, Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Spray and Shimmer Spray. Let dry.
2. Die cut the solid butterflies from Brilliant Butterflies out of white cardstock and add a variety of Distress Oxide Inks including Saltwater Taffy, Worn Lipstick, Kitsch Flamingo and Lumberjack Plaid. Splatter with water and Shimmer Spray. Let dry.
3. Add the same inks from step 2 to another piece of white cardstock. Splatter with water and Shimmer Spray. Once thoroughly dry, die cut Brilliant Butterflies detail butterflies from random sections. Die cut bodies of butterflies from Brushed Black Cardstock. Cut off excess
4. Cut inked panel from step 1 in half for card front. Die cut the Stained Glass Window from the other half. Cut from white cardstock twice more. Adhere together with Bearly Arts Precision Glue.
5. Adhere solid and detailed butterflies at center only. Add bodies and gently fold wings up.
6. Hot foil the sentiment from Making Me Smile Glimmer Plate on Onyx cardstock with Opaque White Hot Foil Roll. Cut out with coordinating dies. Cut two extras and adhere together.
7. Add panel to card then layered die cut. Adhere butterflies and sentiment. Finish card with Fashion Bella Color Essential Pearl Dots.
Originally, I planned to die cut the from the Lost Shadow panel for inlaid die cutting but it would be difficult to keep track of all those pieces.
