How beautiful and detailed is the new Country Road Collection from Spellbinders and Annie Williams? When created these cards to be a set of seasonal cards, I had the idea of an Inn with a sign out front. This collection has so many pieces you can make an endless number of cards.
1. Stencil the Color Layering Clouds on to a piece of white cardstock to fit each season. I used greens on all but winter and autumn got different colors altogether. Ink colors are listed and linked below.
2. Splatter backgrounds with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray for Spring and Summer, Gold Metallic Watercolor for Autumn and White Gouache for Winter. Set aside to dry then attach to an A2 card base.
3. Die cut all the pieces for each season from Rustic Garden, Country Wheelbarrow, Garden Builder, Seasonal Decor and Welcome Sign and Sentiments out of a variety of cardstock colors. Cardstock colors are listed and linked below. use a shim to get the best cut.
4. Assemble die cuts using Bearly Arts Precision glue. tweezers were very helpful for this! Fold the Star along the score lines, pinching and folding to get the shape.
5. Stamp the sentiment from Welcome Sign and Sentiments on each sign with Intens-ified Black Ink.
6. Adhere pieces to cards. Add the sign post and sign first but make sure it’s high enough. Add pieces from back to front.
7. Adhere jewels to cards in colors that coordinate with the card. Add Nuvo Drops in White Blizzard to the ground on the winter card.
I won’t lie, these cards did take a while to create but a few things helped move it along. Using the same background for all the cards, cutting everything from colored cardstock, having a theme, and working assembly line style all helped.
