Spellbinders Hexi-Gems Collection

I love the new Hexi-Gems Collection from Spellbinders. The Essential Hexi-Gems die shape is unique and I found some fun ways to use it. I also used the Hexi-Gems Bloom Glimmer Plate in two different ways.

Before beginning any of these cards I hot foiled the Must Have Sentiments on Blue Spruce cardstock using Moondust Hot Foil Roll and cut them out with the coordinating dies. Die cut twice more from the same cardstock and adhere together.

1. Emboss a piece of Blue Spruce cardstock using the Flower Frenzy 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to and A2 card base with strong adhesive tape.

2. Hot foil the Hexi-Gems Bloom Glimmer Plate using Aura Hot Foil Roll and the Hexi-Gem Glimmer Plate with Moondust Hot Foil Roll. Die cut two extra Hexi-Gems Bloom Glimmer Plate and adhere together with Bearly Arts Precision Glue.

3. Color the flowers using OLO Markers. I’ve only been using them a week so I’m still adjusting but I love them!

4. Die cut the Hexi-Gem Glimmer Plate from the best fitting Essential Hexi-Gems die. Die cut Blue Spruce cardstock with the second and fourth largest Essential Hexi-Gems dies.

5. Adhere the glimmer hexi and hexi frame to the card with foam tape, then add the flower die cut over it with liquid glue. Finally, add the sentiment with liquid glue.

1. Adhere a piece of Blue Spruce cardstock to an A2 card base.

2. Die cut the fourth smallest Essential Hexi-Gems die twelve times. Adhere the hexis to the card base starting at the center and working out from there leaving an even amount of space between each. Cut off excess and use it to fill in extra areas.

3. Hot foil the Hexi-Gems Bloom Glimmer Plate on Lightweight Clear Acetate using Aura Hot Foil Roll cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2”

4. Die cut the Dotted Scallop Edge from the Winter Borders Die Set out of Blue Spruce cardstock. Adhere the acetate to the card with a thin line of glue at the top of the card. Place the border strip over line of glue.

5. Adhere the sentiment with liquid glue, adding a little on the back of the acetate under the sentiment for more secure hold.

1. Die cut the largest Essential Hexi-Gems die from Blue Spruce cardstock. Next cut it from a folded A2 card base with a small bit hanging over the fold edge to make a shaped card. You may need a shim for this part.

2. Die cut the Stitched Kaleidoscope Hexi-Gem dies twice from Blue Spruce cardstock. The two layered edges were cut from teal metallic and glitter cardstocks.

3. Stitch the pieces with matching embroidery floss then adhere the other two edges behind the first.

4. Adhere the two stitched die cuts together overlapping them. Add to the card using thin foam squares.

5. Add the sentiment and finish with Blue Topaz Jewels.
