I used Spellbinders House-Mouse Collection for a technique I haven’t done very often or in quite a while. I am pleased with how it turned out and I’ll be trying this one again soon.
I used a Misti for this project because I was going to continually re-stamp the image. I colored on the Mouse Mail red rubber cling stamp with a different color of Tombow Dual Brush Pens, stamping onto watercolor paper after small sections. I kept the packaging close by for reference.
I initially tried to use a small mist of water before stamping but I like the crispness of the image with just the marker. Once I had stamped the entire image, I used a water brush pen to spread the ink to color the image. As with any watercoloring, I colored one section then moved to a dry area.
When I finished I went back in with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens to add more ink if needed. I cut the panel to 4 x 5 1/4” and stamped the sentiment. I added it to an A2 card base with foam tape.
Have you tried this technique? If so what markers did you use? Is there anything specific you’d like to see me do with red rubber cling stamps from House-Mouse? Leave me a comment.
Thanks for visiting!
You did a spectacular job w/ this image. I adore House Mouse stamps but I am not wild about the clear stamp versions with very detailed images. I have a ton of these in wood block form and I can press really hard on those and get a good image. I ordered two of these H M stamps from Spellbinders — one is good and makes a clear image. The other may have been damaged in transit or something and IDK… it just does not stamp on a swath of the overall image. I am disappointed with that. Your card, on the other hand, is a complete delight – so charming and very pretty!

Thank you! You should contact Spellbinders. Not sure there’s anything they would do but you should definitely ask them!
