Spellbinders House Mouse Winter and New Watercolor Paper

Spellbinders just released these adorable cling stamps in the House Mouse Winter Collection. I used all four today along with four different mediums or techniques to create three cards that I love. The fourth card didn’t turn out great but I decided to share it anyway. I also used the new Spellbinders Watercolor Cardstock on three of the cards.

This card uses the Snuggle Up stamp set on Watercolor Cardstock. I colored the red rubber using Tombow Dual Brush Pens then stamped it on the Watercolor Cardstock. I used a Water Flow Brush over the stamping to color each section. When I was done I stamped the image again to add the crisp lines back in.

I stamped the Candy Hearts image with Intens-ified Black Ink on Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored it with OLO Markers.

I stamped the We Heart You image with Intens-ified Black Ink on Watercolor Cardstock then colored the images with Karin Brushmarker Pro and a Water Flow Brush.

The Knit One stamp was colored with Karin Brushmarker Pro then stamped on Watercolor Cardstock. The pigment in the markers was a bit too intense for this technique. Maybe if I had used lighter colors it would have worked better.

I’m no expert but I do like the Watercolor Cardstock a lot. It’s nice and thick and didn’t seem to pill at all. The first card is my favorite and I think an example of how nice the Watercolor Cardstock is. While I typically use alcohol markers, I do love how the first and third cards turned out. Which do you prefer?

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Adorable! Thanks for the inspo. I have a load of HM stamps and I usually end up coloring them w/ colored pencils b/c I don’t like how copics leave them. All their fur looks weird. I will try watercolors. Your cards are adorable! I’m leary of ordering more of these since the only one I ordered so far did not stamp evenly. My wood block ones are reliable. I just hate returning products. Maybe after it sits for a while and I retry it, whatever pressure it endured from shipping will undo itself? (The image did not stamp in an area where there was an indentation in the rubber.)
Have a blessed Xmas and a Happy New Year 2024~
