Fun Fold Easel Birthday Card

Today is my daughter’s 18th birthday and the card I’m sharing features a few of her favorite things! First, she always wants a rainbow and glitter card and right now she loves eating ramen. I knew as soon as Hero Arts released this bundle, it would make the perfect card for her.

Last month, I shared a fun fold card tutorial On the Hero Arts Blog. Today, I thought I’d share another.

1. Stamp the Origami Paper Bold Prints on a piece of Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock with Mist Core Ink. Splatter with white opaque watercolor.

2. Stamp the images from the Ramen Bundle and color with OLO Markers. Cut out with coordinating dies, cutting two extra of each and adhering together.

3. Stamp the sentiment in Intens-ified Black Ink, masking off the word “oodles”.

Full size ink pads will work but cube inks are easier to manage when stamping each letter a different color.

4. Mask off anything around each letter and stamp in a rainbow of ink colors. I used Cherry, Papaya, Lemon Yellow, Green Apple, Periwinkle and Orchid Core Inks. Cut out with coordinating die as well as two extras. Adhere together.

5. Stamp sentiment for inside of card and die cut twice, adhering together.

6. To create the easel card, cut a top fold card to 4 1/4 x 11”. Score at 2 3/4” and 5 1/2”. Fold both so they fold in on the card.

7. Cut the stamped panel to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” then cut in half at 2 3/4”. Adhere to card base.

8. Adhere bowl of noodles to bottom half of card only then add other die cuts. By cutting extras of each piece we get a small amount of dimension plus stability for the portion that hangs over when folded.

9. Adhere sentiment inside card. This will hold the easel open so place.

10. Adhere a rainbow of Hero Hues Translucent Enamel Dots across card and add Sparkle Lacquer Pen to flower centers and to chopsticks and Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen to egg yolks.

I think my daughter will love this card. Thanks for visiting!
