Eclipse Technique 50th Birthday Card

Hero Arts turns 50 this year and so did my husband so I made him this fun card! I wanted to do an eclipse technique similar to one I did a few weeks ago but the numbers didn’t fit as well. So I stepped it up a notch by overlapping them.

1. Ink over the Sparkle Weave Stencil with Green Apple Core Ink, heavier at bottom fading out almost completely

2. Stamp panel with Novel Prose Bold Prints using same ink. Soften ink towards top by adding to stamp with a blending brush or stamping off on a scrap paper first.

3. Splatter panel with Spring Green and Gold Two-Tone Metallic Ink.

4. Die cut the Number Five Fancy Die from the panel first and set aside. Cut four times from Shamrock Cardstock. Adhere together.

5. Cut the Zero Fancy Die from the panel with the five die cut removed, keeping the inner piece. Cut four more times from Shamrock Cardstock.

6. To cut the groove from the zeros cut from Shamrock Cardstock, line up the stenciled number one die cut over another and adhere the Number Five Fancy Die in place then cut it out. If it’s not perfect you can do a little trimming at the end. Adhere together.

7. Die cut the sentiment from the Hooray Birthday Cover Plate from the bottom of the panel. Back with a strip of Shamrock Cardstock.

8. Stamp sentiment to inside of an A2 card base using Green Apple Core Ink.

9. Adhere panel to card base using Precision Glue then add numbers and center of zero.

10. Add Translucent Greens Enamel Dots throughout.
